Is it just you, or is it your provider?

WiFi Ping will flag possible disruptions from aggregated, anonymised measurements. Until that data exists, this page tells you what we can and cannot say.

Outage status is unavailable

Outage detection needs a live stream of anonymised measurements and external status data, and neither is connected yet.

What it takes: At least 25 independent reports in a region, compared against its normal baseline.

How states will be reported

  1. 1.Normal

    Measurements in the region are within their usual range.

  2. 2.Performance degradation detected

    Speeds or latency are noticeably worse than the regional baseline, across multiple independent tests.

  3. 3.Possible regional disruption

    A large, sudden drop across many independent reports, ideally backed by an external source.

What we will never do

  • Declare an outage from one person's test.
  • Report a disruption without at least 25 independent reports in a region.
  • Hide the evidence: every alert will show how many reports it rests on and how far they differ from normal.
  • Show a reassuring "all normal" status when we simply have no data. Unknown is shown as unknown.

If your own connection seems broken right now, run a test and read the diagnosis. It separates likely local causes from wider ones without overstating certainty.
